We're so lucky to work with a whole host of experts in their fields and Professional Makeup Artist, Tash, is no exception.

With a beauty industry back catalogue spanning London, New York, Berlin and Sydney, we're thrilled to offer Tash's wonderful expertise here at Sustudio. So we had a catch up with her to find out a little bit more...

When and how did you get into the beauty industry?
"I got into the beauty industry purely by chance. I was a sporty, arty kid and studied Foundation Art in Dorset. The plan was to be a Fashion Photographer but, after being scouted in Marks & Spencer in Bournemouth, I changed tack and moved to London to do modelling. Makeup followed from there.

I’ve travelled the world and met some incredible, interesting people - it’s mostly about connecting with people. It’s a dream job, you have to LOVE it though as it’s a tough industry to crack."

What is the most memorable job you've had?
"Omg - I’ve been lucky enough to do hundreds! I loved working for Maybelline in Berlin Fashion Week which I did for six years running (I’ve also been part of New York and London Fashion weeks) The team at Maybelline were brilliant and I miss the excitement and fun of runway shows."

What is the one product you can't work without?
"The one product that changes my face mostly is probably mascara - I love how it transforms in an instant - and Dr Zelen's SPF is my go to skincare."

What’s your makeup philosophy?
"I believe that everyone EVERY. SINGLE. ONE of us can find something beautiful about ourselves and makeup should be there to enhance it, not just cover it.

Beauty, to me, means health, sport, fun and kindness. Nature basically. Soft but strong."

Any makeup dos and don’ts to share?
"With makeup there are no rules. It’s art, it’s creative, it’s your interpretation or expression of who you are.

Generally though, my DON'Ts are no judgement and no gossip. My DOs are forgiveness, peace and compassion."

I have five minutes to do makeup, what can I do that would make the most difference?
"Skin tint (with an added SPF), concealer, blush, mascara, tinted lip balm - all finished with a smile, some kind thoughts and a skip down the street."

How long have you lived in Dorset?
"I actually grew up here. I moved away when I was 18 and have lived in Sydney and New York, but mostly in London over the last 30 years."

What do you love most about working in partnership with Sustudio?
"Jacki is very intuitive at picking the right people for the studio. She's cultivated something really special - it's absolutely about the vibe you'll bring, as well as the high level of expertise in your field."

Tash is available to book for 15 minute makeup consultations which are ideal if you've found yourself in a bit of a makeup rut, as well as for a full hour makeover, perfect if you have a big event or special occasion to glam up for. Bookings through Fresha>
